Melanie Johl is an international yoga instructor. Born into yoga, she was blessed by her guru Swami Vishnudevananda as an infant. While working as a model, she decided to go back to her yogi roots and become a Certified Yoga Teacher at the Sivananda Yoga Ashram. She has been teaching yoga for the past 22 years.
A former dancer and longtime student of Pilates, she incorporates extensive dance and movement knowledge into her teaching and coaching practices. Melanie is an insightful and intuitive healer, spiritual coach, and respected teacher of private and group yoga classes as well as private and group breathing classes.
Her enthusiastic spirit and knowledge sent Melanie on a spiritual journey of discovery. Working and studying with many powerful teachers worldwide, she received her Master of Divinity degree from All Faiths Seminary International in New York, as well as a Doctorate of Philosophy in Divinity and Comparative Religion from Commonwealth Open University. Melanie is an ordained Interfaith Minister, licensed to officiate weddings and ceremonial unions.

Yoga & Movement
Melanie Johl offers private, semi-private, and group yoga sessions throughout the year. All sessions are individually tailored to help students no matter where they are on their fitness journey, and range from beginner to advanced Vinyasa.
BreathWork
Melanie has been teaching Pranayama, or yogic breathing techniques, for over two decades, privately and in group classes. When the Covid-19 pandemic first locked down NYC and the world, she created a new way of teaching breathwork to help people stay calm during these challenging times, and help keep their respiratory and immune systems strong.
Spiritual Coaching
Melanie skillfully weaves together wisdom from the many traditions she has studied for over two decades now. Filtering it into practical guidance, she bridges the seen and unseen to reveal the interconnections of body, mind, and spirit.
Energy Healing
Melanie is well versed in sacred ceremonies and healing energy sessions to move any imbalances, blockages and pain both in the body and the mind using a number of different ancient traditional healing ways.
